Today was another slow day, I did find out thanks to some people that stopped by trying to read the chalkboard sign on the side of the RV that the 1/2 hour of hard rain we had yesterday or the day before had totally washed off the “”FREE JEWELRY” part of the sign but by then it was almost dark.
I think that and not having the sign out along the side of the road is why we have been so slow the last few days.
I noticed tend to talk to people, really talk, every day when I sit outside I end up accidentally talking to at least one visitor for at least an hour. Not because I mean to, but because I am actually really interested in people so I tend to ask open ended questions and listen.
Deborah on the other hand is much more social, but she doesn’t usually ask people about themselves and habitually answers questions in a more efficient manner.
When you talk to me it is like a telephone conversation with someone you haven’t seen for a long time, it might start out awkward but it settles into a back and forth rhythm.
When you talk to Deborah it is more like texting your best friend, few words are needed because the conversations are rooted in common experience.
Anyway tomorrow is our last day giving away Free Jewelry in Douglas for this year and I am a little glad about it because Deborah is starting to get burned out from the long hours in the sun and short hours of sleep at night. She needs the two days off between when we stop giving away free jewelry here and when we start giving away free jewelry in Elfrida.
