Before the year 2014 we used to go gold mining in the summer on our own Placer Claim, on friends Claims and on GPAA Claims.
The Summer of 2014 was our first Summer giving away free jewelry. We didn’t have a name, until someone asked and we just said “The Free Jewelry Project.
We saw a need amongst people for something good to come into their life and jewelry we could make and give away, it isn’t much but as we learned just one little act of kindness can make a big difference in people’s lives, because it helps change their attitudes about life.
Over the years we have given away many thousands of pieces of jewelry, some years over 10,000 pieces! We have given away jewelry to tourists from just about every country we have ever heard of (tourist are more likely to stop because they believe so many good and bad things about America).
One year we made more than 20 wedding ring set for people who had gotten married and could not afford a ring! We have seen where musicians have gotten record contracts because some producer noticed their jewelry. In Ellensburg, Washington a 95 year old woman started crying and said we restored her faith in humanity. Our list of stories are range wide and far, but mostly we don’t remember them.
We don’t often remember to take pictures but sometimes we do. The pictures help remind us of the people we have met, the smiles we have shared, the hard times when we have broken down or run out of gas and had put everything we had into the free jewelry project so we had no way out no way out but the kindness of strangers ourselves.
This year, 2019, we are going to try to remember to write a blog post every day we give away jewelry and take pictures and videos so we can share some of our moments with other people!
Here are some pictures in no particular order. If you click on the ones that interest you, you can see it full size.
